The cliché became real for Kenneth Flornes this spring and summer as he kept losing bidding wars in search for a dream home for him, his wife and their son who’s about to start kindergarten.
“We have perfect credit. We gave asking price and 20 percent down, and we still didn’t get it,” said Flornes, 48, of Rye Brook, recalling his house-hunting journey in the town of Harrison.
